10-time GRAMMY Nominated Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir to perform World Premiere at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Naperville

Concerts at Saints Peter and Paul is excited to announce the world premiere of renowned composer Edie Hill's Cancion de el Alma: en una noche escura presented by ten-time GRAMMY nominated Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir during their concert at Ss. Peter and Paul on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00 pm.

The Estonian Philharmonic's visit to Ss. Peter and Paul will be their only concert in the greater Chicago area during their 12-day tour of the United States. Tickets are available now for purchase: $30.00 General Admission, $15.00 Obstructed View and $75.00 Prime Preferred, which includes front-row seating, wine and dessert post-concert reception and meet-and-greet with the artists. THE ARTISTS:

The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, one of the foremost international choirs and ten-time GRAMMY Award nominees, have received numerous accolades as "...one of Europe's finest professional choirs" and have performed in many of the world's most prestigious venues. For the twenty-four singers in the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, choral singing is a long and proud part of their Baltic heritage. Their powerful and expressive voices produce a sound that is both precise and passionate.

THE COMPOSER:

From solo to orchestra, epigram to epic, Edie Hill's music unfolds seamlessly in all spaces and idioms. Born in New York City (1962), her works are widely performed in the United States, Canada, and Eastern and Western Europe in such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, the LA County Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, Minneapolis' Walker Arts Center, St. Paul's The Schubert Club, The Cape May Festival (NJ), and The Downtown Arts Festival (NYC), among others.

Recently, Minnesota Public Radio commissioned Hill to compose a new work for the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Cancion de el Alma: en una noche escura. The piece was commissioned through Minnesota Public Radio as part of their 2012-2013 Choral Initiative, and will premiere at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Naperville, IL.
