Young Mundelein in fine form at Steeple Chase

Mundelein’s freshman trio was at it again Saturday.

Ryan Magee and Tyler White each shot a 75, with Magee earning medalist honors on a tiebreaker, and Brett Parola fired a 77, as the Mustangs won their own invite at Steeple Chase Golf Club. Mundelein’s 304 was 7 strokes better than runner-up Huntley (311).

The victorious Mustangs also counted senior Derek Parola’s 77, which placed him 10th. White and Brett Parola finished third and eighth, respectively.

Antioch’s Dillon Kreutzer was fifth with a 76, as the Sequoits (345) placed sixth.

Grayslake Central (341, fifth) was led by Kyle Reynolds’ 82.

Vernon Hills (355, seventh) received an 83 from Justin Park, while Bryan Nee carded an 87 for Wauconda (372, ninth). Lakes (376, 10th) got an 86 from Mike Barry.
