Flary's furious flurry fells D-C

You might call it a Caitlin Flary flurry.

The Grayslake Central senior infielder belted a pair of solo home runs, as the Rams downed visiting Dundee-Crown 7-1 in Fox Valley Conference Fox Division action Tuesday.

Anna Strickland went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice for Grayslake Central, while Jamie Brew doubled twice and had an RBI. Winning pitcher Brittany Brown helped her cause with a double and an RBI. Brown struck out six, and the only run she allowed was unearned.

Mundelein 6, Fremd 2: The host Mustangs earned a quality win, as Maddie Zazas went 3-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI and Maria DeVito delivered a 3-for-4 performance with an RBI and run scored.

Mundelein (8-1) also received a pair of hits from Haley Morelli (RBI, run) and Erin Kennelly (2 RBI, run).

Molly Ellett went the distance in the circle for the win.

Warren 22, Lake Forest 1: Lisiann Rodriguez was 5-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI, and Michelle Vasen went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI, as the visiting Blue Devils cruised in the North Suburban Lake contest.

Warren (7-3, 3-0) also received big offensive games from Megan Sowa (2-for-3, double, 2 RBI) and Amy Ricci (3-for-5, 2 doubles, 4 RBI) in winning its sixth in a row. Jenny Carpenter earned the win, allowing 2 hits while striking out five and not yielding an earned run.

Stevenson 9, Libertyville 5: Kat Trotter doubled, tripled and knocked in 3 runs in the North Suburban Lake game, as the Patriots stretched their winning streak to four games.

Stevenson (4-3, 1-2) also got a single and 2 RBI from Abby O'Connor. Sam Feder surrendered 2 earned runs in notching the complete-game win.

Libertyville received a triple from Tayler Oberman and a double from Haley Hoeksel.

Prairie Ridge 15, Grayslake North 0: Jordyn Bowen and Marli Kram had the only hits for the Knights in the Fox Valley Fox game.
