Holiday Performances at Cutting Hall in Palatine

Mark your calendars for a festive variety of holiday performances being presented at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood Street, Palatine. From vocal concerts to musical theater to band performances, the theater will be home to seven performing arts groups from now through the end of December. Tickets for all performances are available at the Cutting Hall Box Office. Box office hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 2pm to 6pm, and one hour prior to show time. Tickets can also be purchased at www.cuttinghall.org or by calling the box office at 847-202-5222.

TesserAct Theatre Ensemble will present “It’s A Wonderful Life, The Musical” from November 16 through November 25. This faithful adaptation includes all of the favorite characters from this heartwarming tale. Ticket prices range from $12.00 to $17.00.

On December 1, Palatine Dance Program presents their annual version of “Nutcracker All Jazz’d Up” at 4:30pm and 7:00pm. This unique production of the traditional ballet includes tap, jazz, tumbling, contemporary and story-telling. Tickets are $6.00 per person.

On December 2, Palatine Park District’s Allegro Adult Choir will present their holiday performance, “Sing We Now This Festive Day,” at 6:30pm. Under the direction of Brent Boyens, Allegro concerts include a wide variety of music from classical to Broadway show tunes. Tickets are $5.00 in advance or $8.00 at the door.

Palatine Children’s Chorus, under the direction of Ms. Rachel Rosselini, presents two separate performances of “Carols By Candlelight.” On December 5 at 7pm, the Do Re Mi and Treble Choirs will perform. The December 8 performance at 3:00pm will showcase the Treble, Intermezzo, Concert and Honors Choirs. Tickets for December 5 are $6.00 per person, and tickets for December 8 are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for seniors and children.

Palatine Concert Band returns to Cutting Hall on December 7 with a 7:00pm Holiday Concert. Led by conductor Ronald H. Polancich, the ensemble provides an outlet for both avocational and professional musicians to perform fine wind band literature and serves the Chicagoland area as a musical organization of high quality. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, and $7.00 for seniors and students.

On December 16 at 6:00pm, the Illinois Brass Band will present “A Christmas Fantasy.” With a cheerful mix of traditional carols, holiday classics, and jazzy updates of Christmas favorites, it will be an evening that will put the entire family in the holiday spirit. The Illinois Brass Band is a six time national champion of the North American Brass Band Association and is led by Musical Director, Stephen Squires. Tickets for this performance are $12.00 for adults, and $6.00 for students/children under 18.

The culmination of the holiday season will take place from December 14 through December 23. Award-winning Theatre Nebula presents “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.” Based on L. Frank Baum’s (author of “Wizard of Oz”) original story, and adapted by Nick Izzo, this story follows Santa’s life journey. Adults will love the lyric language, stylized costumes and choreography. Children will love the fun characters, the imaginative story, and, of course, Santa! Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for children and students.
