South Elgin 8, Bartlett 5: Comeback victories are always something to savor in baseball. For South Elgin, there’s a little extra to Tuesday’s come-from-behind win since it came at rival Bartlett’s expense. The Storm (17-10, 14-8) never gave up in an 8-5 Upstate Eight Valley victory, as they rallied from 4 runs down in the final 2 innings of play in Bartlett. The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead but the Storm fueled a furious rally with 2 in the sixth and a big 6-spot in the seventh behind home runs from Andrew Perry (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Chris Bingham (2-for-4, 3 RBI) while David Palmer and Joe Crivolio each went 1-for-3 with a double. Crivolio earned the win as well. He struck out 14 and gave up 5 earned in 7 innings pitched. Dan Gallanis (2-for-4, RBI) was productive for Bartlett with a double and Kyle Garcia had 2 RBI. Colin Nowak and Robert Smith also drove in runs. Nowak also took the loss on the mound.

Maine South 3, Jacobs 2: What a difference a day makes for the Golden Eagles. After putting up 19 runs and 22 hits in a win against Dundee-Crown on Monday, Jacobs only managed 2 runs on 6 hits in a nonconference loss to the Hawks. Tim Mahoney was 1-for-3 with an RBI while Nick Schmidt took the loss for Jacobs (17-14, 10-7). Game 2 of the District 300 series against the Chargers resumes today at 4:30 p.m. in Carpentersville.

Geneva 18, Streamwood 1 (5 inn.): Dalton Lundeen suffered the loss for the Sabres in this UEC River matchup. Streamwood was outhit 16-3 and the Vikings tacked on the game’s first 11 runs.
