20th annual Care4 Breast Cancer 5K goes virtual Oct. 9-18

The 20th anniversary of the Care4 Breast Cancer 5K will go virtual Oct. 9-18.

Involvement can be as a registrant or by starting a team or by making a donation. The 5K supports local uninsured McHenry County patients at Family Health Partnership Clinic and all proceeds stay local.

Patients who are in need of breast cancer screenings, education and preventative care receive services at the clinic. The clinic is a 501(c)3 nonprofit healthcare clinic that has served uninsured people since 1996.

The virtual event can be done anyway (biking, skipping, running, walking, etc.) and anywhere (at home, in a forest preserve, or at a local park).

Everyone will receive a T-shirt and a finishers medal and there is an online store for purchasing Care4 items at the race website, wwww.care4breastcancer.org.

Participant fee is $35 or $15 for kids, age 12 or under. Cost for Care4 Challenge is $50. First 500 participants will receive a free neck gaiter.

To register or donate, go to www.care4breastcancer.org.
