Writers Welcome to Attend Free Query Letters Workshop

Fiction writers of all genres are welcome to attend "Query Letters that get Results," offered by the American Christian Fiction Writers Chicago Chapter (ACFW-Chicago) from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9, in the Program Room of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. The workshop will be taught by multi-published author Susan Miura, president of ACFW-Chicago. Non-members are welcome to attend. Participants are welcome to bring a query letter, if they have one.

"Query letters are a critical first step toward getting published," Miura said. "It is usually the first contact you have with agents or editors, so it has to really catch their attention and get them interested in your manuscript."

Miura said the workshop will cover the content and formatting of query letters, along with key words and phrases that should or should not be included. Participants will have an opportunity to practice the skills taught and share their work to receive constructive feedback.

There is no fee or registration required for attending this ACFW-Chicago meeting, and no obligation to join. For more information, go to the ACFW Chicago Chapter Facebook page or email Miura at susan.miura@yahoo.com.
