Girls volleyball/Fox Valley roundup

CL South d. Jacobs: Nicole Slimko had 10 digs, 6 kills and 2 aces, while Tori Falbo had 4 aces and 10 digs and Carly Nolan added 6 kills to lead the Gators to a 25-18, 25-16 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Hannah Wilson (10 digs), Avalan Nero (4 kills) and Cassy Slvesind (14 assists) also contributed for Crystal Lake South (7-1, 1-0). Katie Mahoney (7 kills), Kassie Kasper (9 digs, 2 assists), Ester Onata (9 assists), Allie Campbell (4 kills) and Bridget Wallenberger (3 kills) led Jacobs (2-1, 0-1).

Harvest Christian d. IMSA: Chloe Corbett had 5 kills and 2 aces and Mikayla Robinson added 3 kills and a block to lead the Lions to a 25-16, 25-17 Northeast Athletic Conference win. Jade Martinez added 14 assists for Harvest (1-2, 1-0).

Streamwood d. East Aurora: Hannah McGlone had 12 kills, 3 blocks and 6 digs to lead the Sabres to a 25-18, 25-22 Upstate Eight crossover win. Andrea Plypulak (3 kills) and Lexi Engram (3 kills, 4 blocks) also contributed for Streamwood (3-2).

Burlington Central d. Rock Falls: Allie O’Reilly was 24-for-24 on serve receive and had 36 digs and 4 aces as BC outlasted Rock Falls 25-17, 25-27, 25-13 in Big Northern crossover action. McKenna Jensen (11 kills, 9 blocks), Jenna Schudel (12 kills) and Ali Detamble (9 kills) also contributed for the Rockets (3-0), who played without star hitter Lauren Wiltsie. Wiltsie has a knee injury that BC coach Marv Leavitt said is not an ACL tear and is not a season-threatening injury.

Woodstock North d. Hampshire: Kyla Conway had 10 kills and Julianna Gass 23 digs in the Whip-Purs’ 25-23, 14-25, 25-16 FVC Fox loss. Brittany Laffin added 29 assists for Hampshire.

Cary-Grove d. McHenry: Abby Schevel had 7 kills and Bree Coffey added 9 digs to lead the Trojans to a 25-17, 25-21 FVC Valley win. Morgan Lee added 3 assists for Cary-Grove (2-0, 1-0).

West Chicago d. Elgin: Emma Sirridge had 2 kills and 5 blocks and Jessica Ramirez added 3 blocks for Elgin (3-4-1) in a 25-16, 25-14 Upstate Eight crossover loss.
