Vernon Hills 2, Libertyville 1 (9 inn.): Megan Meline pitched all 9 innings for the visiting Cougars in the North Suburban crossover.

Nicki Wagner went 3-for-4 to pace the winners offensively. Meline went 2-for-4 to help her own cause, while Emily Evanson was 2-for-5 for Vernon Hills (5-11). Anya Mollenhauer and Christina Oberrieder had doubles.

Meline struck out seven, walked two and allowed 5 hits.

Libertyville fell to 5-10.

Lake Zurich 7, Wauconda 2: Megan Mattera hit a home run and pitched 4 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win.

Mattera (3-for-4) also had 2 doubles and finished with 3 RBI. Kelly Neisis went 3-for-4 with 2 stolen bases and an RBI. Alli McGinnis (2-for-4, 2 runs) and Erin Sweney (2-for-2, RBI, stolen base) also had big games offensively for Lake Zurich (11-9). Ella Aslan was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Stevenson 9, Grant 0: Allie Micucci fired a 2-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and Ashley Niedermayer homered and drove in 3 runs in the North Suburban crossover.

Genny Duffy was 3-for-3 and scored twice for Stevenson (9-9). Niedermayer finished 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored, while Heather Cohen had a triple.

Johnsburg 13, Grayslake Central 4: Jordyn Bowen had a triple for the Rams in their Fox Valley Conference loss.
