Moscow Festival Ballet presents 'Swan Lake' Jan. 15 at the MAC
The world-renowned Moscow Festival Ballet will bring their grace and style to the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, in two performances at 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15.
Company members weave the tale of the Princess Odette, who, under the curse of an evil sorcerer, spends her days as a swan, assuming human form only at night. Prince Seigfried falls in love with the swan maiden, and the question becomes whether their love is strong enough to break the sorcerer's curse or if they will fall victim to his tricks.
With lavish costumes and supreme athleticism, Moscow Festival Ballet continues to prove why they are one of the best ensembles in the world. Founded in 1989 by legendary Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer Sergei Radchenko, Moscow Festival Ballet incorporates classical elements of the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies. The company has produced other timeless classics, including “Giselle, “Don Quixote,” Paquita” and “Carmen” and has performed in countries worldwide.
Tickets to Moscow Festival Ballet are $46 for adults, $44 for seniors and $36 for College of DuPage students and youth.
The Jan. 15 performances also feature two free pre-performance MAC Chats with Richard Covello at 1 and 6 p.m.
