Bailey leads Glenbard East past Glenbard North

Dante Bailey scored 17 points as Glenbard East rallied to overcome Glenbard North, 42-39, at the District 87 boys basketball tournament Tuesday night in Glen Ellyn.

Josh Fleming topped the Panthers (0-2) with 14 points, and Ryan Krueger added 12.

"We came out a little bit flat early," Rams coach Scott Miller said. "I was real proud of our guys in that fourth quarter. We got some stops, some key stops and hit some big shots. Tahron Harvey and Pat Walsh hit some big 3s to put us over the top, and (Evan) Peterson and Marvin (Grant-Clark) made free throws. I was real pleased with our execution."

The Rams (2-0) meet Glenbard West at 7:30 p.m. today for the championship of the round-robin tournament.

Benet 58, Sandburg 38:

Benet enjoyed a good start to the season at the Hinsdale South Tip-Off Tournament, taking a 19-5 first-quarter lead and coasting from there. John Enochs led the Redwings with 18 points and Joe Schuessler added 15.

Hinsdale Central 61, Hinsdale South 57:

The Red Devils upset the Tip-Off Tournament host, taking a 20-7 first-quarter lead. Brad Anlauf and Alec Hutcherson led Hinsdale Central with 19 and 14 points, respectively. Hinsdale South got 15 apiece by Phil George and Jerry Stoltz and 13 from Brock Benson.

Addison Trail 57, Little Village 43:

At Reavis, James Pupillo scored 19 points and Varinder Kalsi added 15 for Addison Trail in its season debut.
