Grayslake North tops Rockford Jefferson
Teddy Ludwick scored 24 points, as Grayslake North's boys basketball team defeated Rockford Jefferson 53-46 in Richmond on Friday night to advance to the championship game of the Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton tournament.
Grayslake North (3-0) will play at 7:30 p.m. today at Johnsburg.
A.J. Fish added 10 points for the Knights,
Grant 74, Johnsburg 63: At Johnsburg, Jerry Gaylor scored 24 points, and Jared Helmich added 21 for the Bulldogs.
Grant (2-1) also received 19 points from Sean Wells.
Mike Dombrowski scored 33 points for Johnsburg.
Lake Zurich 74, Phillips 67 (2 OT): At Palatine, the Bears prevailed in double overtime to give coach Billy Pitcher his first win.
Mirko Grcic led Lake Zurich with 18 points, all in the second half, and 10 rebounds. Colin Rathe added 14 points, including two 3-pointers, and Jeff O'Brien had 14 points and 6 steals.
The Bears also got 12 points and 8 rebounds from 6-foot-8 Drake Orser.
Lake Zurich (1-2) plays Rolling Meadows at 10:30 a.m. today at Palatine.
Richmond-Burton 54, Wauconda 44: At Richmond-Burton, the Bulldogs fell to 0-3, despite 14 points from Tyler Gick.
Vernon Hills 46, Northridge Prep 26: At Northridge Prep, DaVaris Daniels scored 23 points for the Cougars.
