Vernon Hills blanks Round Lake
Julie Pecht, Maddison Guillaume and Kaitlin Gramins each scored twice, as Vernon Hills’ girls soccer team shut out Round Lake 6-0 in a North Suburban Prairie Division match Thursday.
Vernon Hills (4-3) got assists from Alex Goldstein, Courtney Corrado, Kristen Guglielmi and Haley Lieberman.
Grant 7, North Chicago 0: Marissa Allen scored 4 goals and assisted on one for the Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie match.
Kassie Stimpson added 2 goals and an assist for Grant, while Jenna Pecorini had a goal and an assist. Mallory Gizowski, Sophie Finerty, Alyssa Wilhelm and Kyra Schmidt had assists as well.
Prairie Ridge 1, Grayslake North 0: The Wolves scored with less than two minutes left to capture the Fox Valley Conference match and drop the Knights to 5-3-1.
Lockport 2, Lake Zurich 1 (shootout): Vanesa Abad scored the lone goal for the Bears in the Pepsi Showdown match.
Lockport prevailed 4-3 in penalty kicks.
Lake Zurich (4-3) was up 1-0 at halftime. Bears keeper Eleanor Daleske made 8 saves.
Lakes 1, Wauconda 0: Leah Baker scored off an assist from Jenna Baker, as the Eagles improved to 4-2-1 and 2-0 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.
Keeper Kara Jones stopped 6 shots in earning her fourth shutout of the season.
