The Marian Central Thanksgiving tournament champions improved to 5-0 Tuesday night by beating host Round Lake 54-35 in the two teams' North Suburban Prairie Division opener.
Roslyn Summerville led Wauconda with a career-high 20 points and 8 rebounds. Melanie Prudhomme added 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Bulldogs.
Round Lake (4-2) was led in scoring by Krystal Pitts with 13 points.
Vernon Hills 61, Antioch 52: Meri Bennett-Swanson scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, leading the Cougars to the North Suburban Prairie win.
Vernon Hills (4-1, 1-0) also received 10 points apiece from Abby Springer and Lauren Webb. Springer added 4 assists and 4 rebounds, and Smith had 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Antioch got 22 points from Andi Potkonjak and 12 apiece from Jessica Ploss and Lauren Tiffany.
Grant 57, North Chicago 38: Donnie Taggart and Morgan Jahnke scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, as the Bulldogs won the North Suburban Prairie opener.
Zion-Benton 49, Warren 35: Warren-transfer Morgan Garrett scored a team-high 10 points against her former team, as the host Zee-Bees won the North Suburban Lake opener.
Zion-Benton led 21-20 at halftime, and then outscored the Blue Devils 12-5 in the third quarter and 16-10 in the fourth.
Jessica Prince led Warren with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Lexi Leneau had 6 points and 6 rebounds for the Blue Devils, and Amanda Barger contributed 5 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Zion-Benton also received 9 points apiece from Samantha Rodriguez and Helena Rodriguez.
