Antioch captures 3rd win in a row
Four Antioch girls scored in double digits, and two earned season-high assists as the Sequoits defeated Lakes 77-37 in North Suburban Prairie Division girls basketball action Saturday.
The win gave Antioch (10-10, 5-3) a season-best three-game winning streak.
Andi Potkonjak scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and also had a season-high 8 assists and 5 steals. Allie Anttila added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Lindsey Gofron contributed 12 points and a season-high 7 assists. And Lauren Grant added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Helping the Sequoits grab rebounds were Jessica Ploss and Sarah Gaborek, who earned 9 and 7, respectively.
Jennifer Totten led Lakes (6-14, 2-7) with 8 points. Asja Triplett added 7 points.
Grant 34, Round Lake 23: Heather Chapman's 14 points led scoring on both teams and helped Grant defeat Round Lake in the North Suburban Prairie game.
Krystal Pitts scored 9 points for the Panthers (5-16, 0-9). Chanae Brown added 8 points.
Sandburg 46, Buffalo Grove 31: The Bison (8-14) were led by juniors Andrea DiPrima (9 points, 2 3-pointers) and Alanna Zawlocki (8) in the Sweet Sixteen game in Orland Park.
St. Viator 46, Carmel 40: The Lions improved to 15-7 and 5-2 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference contest as senior guard Susan Hohenadel led the way with 14 points (1 3-pointer), followed by Meghan Malone (9 points, 2 3-pointers) and Ronnie Mack (7).
Meghan McGrath and Taylor Skala each added 6 for the Lions.
Carmel was led by senior Kristine Ruhl (13 points) and junior Beth Scudder (11).
