DoodleBug Workshop offers art program for adult day program and High School Transition Groups

DoodleBug Workshop in Wheaton is inviting groups that serve people with special needs to come for a special two-hour session.

The Workshop, based at 314 S. Main St., welcomes men and women with special needs, ages 16 to 60 or older, and teaches them to use tools to make decorative and practical products out of wood, resin and other materials.

In addition to regular weekly classes, DoodleBug Workshop now has a one-session program they are expanding for Adult Day Program and High School Transition groups.

Participants create their own work product that they take home with them. Lunch and a stroll in downtown Wheaton can be included.

"What we offer is a fulfilling social experience in addition to the skill-building exercise," said Sarah Starke, executive director of DoodleBug Workshop. "Everyone has a great time!"

The JCS Arts, Health and Education Fund of DuPage Foundation is supporting this program with a $5,000 donation.

Any groups interested in finding out more about this exciting opportunity should contact Sarah Starke at sarah@doodlebugworkshop.com.
