Nov. 19
Shop and support Busy Brains: Wednesday, Nov. 19. Shop at any Jewel Food Store to support Busy Brains Children's Museum. The Jewel Shop & Share participation form is available on the museum's web site at busybrains.org. Busy Brains will receive a portion of the proceeds from each purchase.
Shop and support Lake Zurich Cougars: Wednesday, Nov. 19. Shop at any Jewel Food Store to support the Lake Zurich 13U Cougars baseball team. For a Shop & Share participation form, call Judy Kudron at (847) 727-1172. The Cougars will receive 5 percent of the proceeds from each purchase.

Friends of Kevin and Regina fundraiser: 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, Nov. 22, Jesse Oaks, 18490 W. Old Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake. Fundraiser for the Kevin Dalton and Regina Dunn families to defray medical costs. Kevin has aphasia as a result of a brain bleed associated with an arteriovenous malformation; Regina fought a MRSA infection for 11 months and succumbed in August. $15 cover charge; all proceeds benefit the fundraiser. Mistletoe Mall: 3-7 p.m. Nov. 22, Transfiguration School Parish Life Center, 316 W. Mill St. Wauconda. Holiday vendor show and craft fair. Admission is $5, and includes one raffle ticket.
Pasta Dinner: 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, Wauconda High cafeteria, 555 N. Main St., Wauconda. Fundraiser for the Wauconda High School Post-Prom Committee. Food is provided by the Vernon Hills Olive Garden. Spaghetti dinner: 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 23, Lakes Community High School Cafeteria, 1600 Eagle Way, Lake Villa. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, and bread; drinks and dessert sold separately. Carry-outs available. Tickets are $7, free for ages 4 and under. Clearbrook's Wonderland of Lights: Nov. 27 to Jan. 1. Drive through 1.6 miles of animated lights and displays at Arlington Park Racecourse, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. All Creatures Fundraiser: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, All Creatures Animal Hospital, 1210 Rte. 22, Lake Zurich: All Creatures Animal Hospital will sponsor a holiday fundraiser for Canine Cancer Campaign and Fremont Township Food pantry. Gingerbread house workshop: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6 at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Road, Lake Forest. Woodlands Academy will host its seventh annual gingerbread house workshop. In addition to receiving the treats to make a gingerbread house, enjoy a visit with Santa. Holiday house walk: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. The Riverside Foundation Auxiliary will host its annual holiday house walk, "Take a Walk Down Candy Cane Lane." Following the tour of four area homes, attendees are invited to gather at the Lincolnshire Swim Club for dessert and beverages, a holiday boutique and a raffle. New this year is a holiday giving tree, which features ornaments made by Riverside residents and provides an opportunity for attendees to make additional donations. Tickets cost $35. Raffle tickets are $2 each. Advance reservations are required. Fruit sale: Mundelein High School instrumental band program is holding a fruit fundraising sale. An assortment of small and large cases of oranges, grapefruit, tangelos and juice oranges and combination assortments are available. Entertainment books: The Mundelein Community Women's Club is selling the 2009 Entertainment books. Two for the price of one coupons are offered at local restaurants, Marriott Theatre, Ravinia and discounts at Dominick's, car washes, cleaners and sporting events.
