Flu shots: Lake Forest Hospital will provide flu immunizations while supplies last. The conventional vaccine costs $30; nasal spray and mercury-free vaccines each cost $40. Cash is preferred. Lake Forest Hospital is not able to bill insurance, but the hospital will bill Medicare. The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center offers walk-in and telephone crisis counseling and referrals for Lake County residents experiencing emotional stress. STD clinics: Registration begins at 8 a.m. Tuesdays and 3 p.m. Thursdays, Belvidere Medical Building, 2400 Belvidere Road, Waukegan. The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center offers confidential clinics for the screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Patients can call up to one week in advance to schedule an appointment. Fees are on a sliding scale. A $10 co-pay is required at the time of service (this excludes high school students and Medicaid clients). No one will be refused treatment due to inability to pay.
