Lake Co. fundraiser calendar

Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

Nov. 12

Libertyville Woman's Club Holiday Bazaar: 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church, Libertyvile. Holiday Gifts will be sold. Proceeds are used to support needy organizations locally and globally. For information, call (847) 362-0863 or (847) 816-7602.

Nov. 14

Holiday marketplace: 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, Isaac Fox Elementary School, 395 W. Cuba Road, Lake Zurich. Isaac Fox Elementary School PTO's second annual "Holiday Marketplace." Auction, Dinner and Dance: 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, Mill Creek Banquets, 333 W. Mill St., Wauconda. Annual Auction, Dinner, and Dance sponsored by Church of the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church of Wauconda. Begins with a cash bar, appetizers, a silent auction. At 7:30 p.m. a formal seven-course dinner will be served, followed by a Live Auction and dancing. The cost to attend is $37.50. Habitat for Humanity Lake County: Donors who make online donations of at least $5 by Friday, Nov. 14, at thegivingspree.com after selecting Northbrook Court or Golf Mill and Habitat for Humanity Lake County will receive a list of exclusive offers from retailers available Saturday, Nov. 15, at the selected mall.

Golden Paw Gala: 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Radisson Hotel, 2875 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook. Gala to benefit the animals at Heartland Animal Shelter. Includes a silent auction, food stations, Champagne toast and activities for well-behaved dogs. The Gift That Gives: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Antioch United Methodist Church, 848 Main St., Antioch. Features items from around the world, including gifts, jewelry and home decor by third world artisans from Ten Thousand Villages; handmade Appalachian crafts from Red Bird Mission in Kentucky; natural soaps and spa products from The Enterprising Kitchen and Fair Trade coffee, cocoa, tea and chocolate. Diamonds and Denim: 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Royal Melbourne Country Club, 4700 Royal Melbourne Drive, Long Grove. The Hawthorn Woods Women's Club's Third Annual Charity Casino Night, featuring Las Vegas-style gambling, Texas Hold'em tournaments, a silent auction, and a raffle along with a light buffet and entertainment. The dress code is "casual chic"; women are encouraged to wear their finest denim and jewelry. A contest will be held for the Best Denim. All proceeds will benefit women and children in Lake County. Clearbrook's Wonderland Of Lights: Drive through 1.6 miles of animated lights and displays at Arlington Park Racecourse, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. Holiday tree festival: 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at White Deer Run Golf Club, 250 W. Gregg's Parkway, Vernon Hills. The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County will host the fifth annual festival. Enjoy four-hour open premium bar, appetizers, buffet dinner and dessert while bidding on decorated Christmas trees, holiday items, jewelry, sports memorabilia and more in live and silent auctions. Proceeds will provide therapeutic recreational programming for children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Dec. 6

All Creatures Fundraiser: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, All Creatures Animal Hospital, 1210 Rte. 22, Lake Zurich: All Creatures Animal Hospital will sponsor a holiday fundraiser for Canine Cancer Campaign and Fremont Township Food pantry. Bring cats and dogs for a photo with Santa. Admission is a $5 donation at the door or a donation of cat or dog food. For information, call (847) 726-0050.

Fruit sale: Mundelein High School instrumental band program is holding a fruit fundraising sale. An assortment of small and large cases of oranges, grapefruit, tangelos and juice oranges and combination assortments are avialable. To place an order, contact a band student or call Karen Havlik at (847) 361-2125. Delivery will be between Dec. 12 and 18.

Entertainment books: The Mundelein Community Women's Club is selling the 2009 Entertainment books. Two for the price of one coupons are offered at local restaurants, Marriott Theatre, Ravinia and discounts at Dominick's, car washes, cleaners and sporting events.
