Nov. 2

Scholar-in-Residence: 12:30 p.m. Mondays, Patty Turner Senior Center, 375 Elm St., Deerfield. Barry Bradford leads an array of educational programs focused on history, psychology, theater and books. Vascular Health Screening: 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, then by appointment Thursday, Nov. 19, Lake Forest Hospital Specialty Care Center, 660 N. Westmoreland Road, Lake Forest. For adults over 60, or those over 50 with vascular risk factors. The two-night event focuses on the education and prevention of circulatory system problems. The first night features an educational dinner seminar. Attendees return the second night at an assigned time for their screening and a meeting with a vascular physician. $40 for the two-night event.
