Spelling Bee for Seniors: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, Barton Senior Residences of Zion, 3500 Sheridan Road, Zion. Seniors ages 65 and up are invited to participate in the Senior Spelling Bee. Cash prizes will be awarded, including a $250 prize for first place. A complimentary lunch and private tours of the Barton facility will be held for those interested after the competition. Vascular Health Screening: 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, then by appointment Thursday, Nov. 19, Lake Forest Hospital Specialty Care Center, 660 N. Westmoreland Road, Lake Forest. For adults over 60, or those over 50 with vascular risk factors. The two-night event focuses on the education and prevention of circulatory system problems.
