Food Preservation Classes: 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays, June 23 and 30, University of Illinois Extension, 100 S. U.S. Highway 45, Grayslake. The next class second will be "Boiling Water Bath Canning" with safe methods to preserve fruits, tomatoes and pickles; a pickle and a tomato salsa recipe will be tested. The third class will be "Freezing and Dehydrating" discussing preserving herbs and how to blanch a product for freezing, with a tasting of previously frozen and dehydrated foods.
