Events that raise money for some type of charity, including galas, golf outings, rummage sales, shopping events, fashion shows, picnics and sport nights. Deadline is two weeks before event date.

June 17

Journeys from PADS to HOPE golf outing: 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, Palatine Hills Golf Course, 512 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Women Helping Women Luncheon: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, 4275 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Fundraiser for Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, with keynote speaker Katie Hnida, the first female kicker to score in Division 1 college football, and master of ceremonies Melissa Foreman of WLIT 93.9 FM. The event will feature tours of Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center provided by staff, a silent auction and raffle, and a gourmet box lunch. Tickets are $100 each with group packages available. Maxtravaganza: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Lake Forest Sportscars, 900 N. Shore Drive, Lake Bluff. The Max Schewitz Foundation's major fundraiser of the year will feature a silent auction, dinner provided by area restaurants, and a live auction. Also, all guests will participate in a game in which the winner takes home an Apple TV. The foundation works to help prevent the death of young adults due to sudden cardiac events and to protect threatened reptile species (a passion of Max Schewitz's). The $10 admission ($30 for a family) includes entrance to all exhibits, hands-on contact with a variety of reptiles, face painting, games, and crafts to take home. St. Bede Knights of Columbus Fundraiser: All-day event starting with a car show at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 25, St. Bede Church, Rt. 59 and Wilson Road, Ingleside. It Can Be Done: Mondays and Tuesdays, Francesca's Intimo, 293 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Francesca's Intimo has agreed to donate 15 percent of patrons' bills to the nonprofit organization It Can Be Done! on Mondays and Tuesdays if the customer mentions the organization to a restaurant employee. The proceeds will benefit the purchasing of a drill to construct wells throughout the 12 villages of Uru on Mount Kilimanjaro, providing the 30,000 people living there with freshwater.
