April 24

Girls on the Town: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, April 24 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, downtown Palatine. The Downtown Palatine Business Association will host this free event with activities designed to appeal to ladies of all ages. Spring Luncheon: 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, Twin Orchard Country Club, 22353 Old McHenry Road, Long Grove. The Friends of the Ela Area Public Library will present their annual spring luncheon. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. Tables of 10 are $450. Entertainment includes book dramatist Barbara Rinella who perform Anne Sebba's book "American Jennie: the Remarkable Life of Lady Randolph Churchill," the story of Winston Churchill's mother and close adviser.
