Children of Abraham Coalition 8th annual Interfaith Potluck For Peace

The Children of Abraham Coalition invites the public to its annual Interfaith Potluck for Peace, Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Saint Viator High School, 1213 East Oakton St., Arlington Heights, Illinois, 60004.

The 8th annual Interfaith Potluck for Peace event that takes place in solidarity with the International Interfaith March for Peace and Justice. The Potluck for Peace is the Chicago affiliate of Interfaith March for Peace and Justice. All are invited. Each attendee is asked to bring a dish from their heritage to share. The only request is that no pork or shellfish be present. Registration is encouraged, but not required.

There will also be a presentation of the fourth annual Courage of Abraham and Prophetic Youth Award.

The Children of Abraham Coalition is a 501(3)c nonprofit organization and works to develop and strengthen interfaith dialogue, increasing understanding and respect between Christian, Jews and Muslims of all ages. The organization formed in 2010, when a few religious leaders in the Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities came together in response to growing distrust and suspicion of the Muslim community. The official religious leaders now serving the Children of Abraham Coalition are Shaheen Khan, Rabbi Steve Hart and Fr. Corey Brost, C.S.V. The mission statement of COAC includes a "call to organize events where Muslims, Jews and Christians can learn about each other's religions while working together to build a world of salaam, shalom, peace".
