Enjoy a bier and brezel at Heritage Farm's German Beer Garden

Warm pretzels, cold beer and captivating folk music set against a historic background enchant attendees of Schaumburg Park District's German Beer Garden.

German Beer Garden is set for 4-7 p.m., July 20 and Aug. 24 at Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. The event features backyard games, live German music, local craft beer, pretzels, pickles and refreshments.

"We're excited to offer a unique experience on the site of a living museum that transports visitors to Schaumburg's German roots," said Patricia Kennedy, farm program supervisor. "Families and friends of all ages gather to enjoy a wonderful evening at the farm."

Admission is $5 per person. Children 3 and younger are free. Fee includes one pretzel or pickle, and a reusable glass. Beer and soda will be available for purchase, with last call at 7:30 p.m. Picnic dinners are welcome.

The event runs rain or shine.
