Downers Grove Choral Society to 'Sing Our Way Home' Feb. 10

The Downers Grove Choral Society, with artistic director John P. Rakes, continues its exciting 60th celebration season on Sunday, Feb. 10.

"Sing Our Way Home" will feature Mack Wilberg's "The Prodigal" and Kirke Mechem's "Birthdays Round Numbers" along with other songs for a journey home.

There will be a pre-concert discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4 p.m. concert.

The Downers Grove Choral Society, anchored in Downers Grove, draws its members from around the Chicago area.

Its membership extends well beyond Downers Grove, including such communities as Western Springs, Elgin, Woodridge, Lemont, Wheaton, Frankfort, Naperville, Carol Stream, Lombard, St. Charles, Villa Park and Willowbrook, to name just a few

Advance tickets are $20, $15 for seniors or $10 for students. Tickets at the door are $22, $17 and $12.

All 2018-19 season concerts will be presented at First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Ave. in Downers Grove.

The season will continue on Sunday, April 28, with Haydn's "The Creation Part 1."
