'Live from Laurel Canyon' to offer iconic music, stories March 10 at ECC Arts Center

The Elgin Community College Arts Center presents "Live from Laurel Canyon," featuring songs and behind-the-scenes stories of Carole King, Joni Mitchell, The Eagles and Jackson Browne, at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10. The performance will be held at the ECC Arts Center's Blizzard Theatre located in Building H on the Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

The national touring production of "Live from Laurel Canyon" celebrates the legendary talents and formative chapters in the evolution of the most popular music blend of 1960s folk with the up-and-coming energetic rock sounds of the 1970s. These chapters unfold with the behind-the-scenes narrative of the personal and professional stories of the legendary musical residents of 1960s and '70s Laurel Canyon. The iconic music, stories and legacy of Laurel Canyon are brought to life by a cast of remarkable musicians during this loving homage to a storied epicenter of musical innovation.

Laurel Canyon originates from its intersection with Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood and slices its way through the Hollywood Hills. It winds and twists high above the city where we find Laurel Canyon residents: The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Carole King, James Taylor, The Mamas & The Papas, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Jim Morrison, Neil Young and the host of other legendary talent who resided there from 1965 through 1976.

Tickets for ECC Arts Center's national touring production of "Live from Laurel Canyon" are $35 or $29.
