"Over the Edge" is an unusual fundraising event, providing participants the thrilling opportunity of rappelling down a building in an exciting environment. Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois is excited to announce a partnership with the Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, as the location for this event. "At Girl Scouts, we know outdoor activities provide opportunities for girls to learn and practice important skills, experience unforgettable adventures, and triumph through individual and group challenges!," says Fiona Cummings, Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois CEO. "Girls often gain confidence by trying something new, overcoming fear, and practicing to improve specific skills.

"When we learned about Over the Edge we knew it was the perfect fundraising event for us; one that fits well with what Girl Scouts is about. Best of all, this event allows us to share that experience with the public. Anyone who would like to rappel is invited to register. Plus, we are pleased to partner with Pheasant Run Resort, an ideal location for this exciting and thrilling growth experience."

"The Pheasant Run Resort has been a family getaway for over 50 years," says France Langan, General Manager of The Pheasant Run Resort. "This year, we've been adding to the unique experiences we offer to families with our theater productions, I-Panic Escape Rooms, nightly weekend entertainment, and more. A chance to partner with such a wonderful organization as the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois and help to raise money ultimately for families is a true honor! Our unique guest room tower in the Kane/DuPage County skyline obviously is hard to miss and was a natural setting for such a wonderful cause."

Limited to the first 92 participants, individuals, ages 14 and older, who want to participate are required to raise a minimum of $1,000. There is no experience or prior training needed in order to register. The "Over the Edge" staff consists of a team of experts who possess an outstanding safety record, and who provide the technical expertise, training, and equipment needed for the event.
