Colonial Cafe Match Day to double contributions Dec. 10

Giving back to the community and supporting those in need is crucial, especially during the holiday season when so many are without food and toys for their children.

The Salvation Army of the Fox Valley area red kettle campaign is a reminder that the need has no season and that community support is vital to its success.

In an effort to support their Christmas fundraising needs, Colonial Café is offering a match of donations up to $30,000 throughout the Fox Valley area for the sixth annual Colonial Café Match Day on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Donations made to all the red kettles in St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, Naperville, Elgin, Algonquin, Crystal Lake and McHenry County on Saturday, Dec. 10, will be matched up to $30,000.

All contributions will stay local, and support the services and programs of the local Salvation Army units.

A special treat card will be given to donors at the red kettles courtesy of Colonial Café.

Colonial Café is a longtime friend and supporter of The Salvation Army. It is generational, according to Lt. Betsy Clark, corps officer for The Salvation Army Tri-City Corps.

Clark states, "Our partnership with Colonial Café started with Joe K. Anderson back in 1951 and it continues today through the next generations who give so generously all year round to The Salvation Army. We truly appreciate the Anderson family and their generosity."
