The Blue Devils defeated visiting Wauconda 10-0 in a North Suburban Conference crossover, improving to 28-4-1 with their ninth win in a row.
Ricci finished 2-for-4 in the six-inning contest, while Demski aided her cause by going 4-for-4 with 2 doubles. Lyn DeMeyer went 3-for-4 for Warren.
Libertyville 2, Vernon Hills 1: The improving Wildcats upset the North Suburban Prairie Division leaders, as winning pitcher Emilie Teitz got her 100th strikeout of the season.
Taylor Oberman, Nicole Kruckman, Calley Kaluzny and Teitz were all 1-for-3 for Libertyville.
Vernon Hills fell to 20-11, despite Megan Meline’s 3-for-3 performance
The Cougars committed 7 errors in what coach Steve Korney called their “worst defensive game of the year.” Both of the Wildcats’ runs against Meline were unearned.
Lakes 12, Stevenson 1: Meghan Milewski’s RBI double and Megan Massie’s 2-run double helped state the Eagles to a first-inning lead in the North Suburban crossover.
Lakes got an RBI single from Sara Braden (3-for-4) and a sacrifice fly by Jamie Dykstra (2-for-3, 3 RBI) in the second. Taylor Dishinger got it done on the rubber for the winners, allowing 1 run over 5 innings, while also contributing a pair of hits. Milewski finished 3-for-3, and Cassidy Schaar also had a couple of hits for the Eagles.
For Stevenson (8-21), Lara Horwitz and Lexi Yonkovic were both 2-for-3.
Lake Zurich 4, Grant 2: Maria Schroeder was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and an RBI for the victorious Bears in the North Suburban crossover.
Kasey Roe was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Lake Zurich (21-8), and Shannon McPeek pitched a complete-game 4-hitter (1 earned run) to improve her record to 18-8.
Grayslake North 6, Grayslake Central 1: Kelsey Borders homered and knocked in a pair of runs, and Nikki Livengood had 2 hits and 3 RBI, as the Knights beat their crosstown rival for the second time this season.
Jessica Davis was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Grayslake North (19-8-1), which got 10 strikeouts from winning pitcher Kristina Gandy.
Brittany Brown had a double for Grayslake Central.
Antioch 14, Lake Forest 0: Katie Keefe went 4-for-4 with a homer, triple and 2 singles. She also had 6 RBI, as the Sequoits picked up their 20th win in the North Suburban crossover.
Antioch (20-12) also got a triple from Mackenzie Thomas and doubles from Katie Phillips and Jessica Pedersen (3-for-4). Hannah Skoog was 2-for-3 with 4 runs scored, 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases. Thomas, Kaylene Ressler and Jessica Tyrell added 2 hits apiece.
Fenwick 3, Carmel 2: Kathleen Felicelli tripled, doubled and drove in both of the Corsairs’ runs in their East Suburban Catholic Conference game.
Erika Schoenfeld and Madeline Felipez also doubled for Carmel, which led 1-0 until Fenwick scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth.
