Mundelein gets win No. 20

Mundelein’s baseball team reached the 20-win mark Thursday.

Jordan Wiegold doubled twice, and Matt Langlie pitched a complete-game 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts, leading the Mustangs to a 4-2 win over host Lakes in a North Suburban Conference crossover.

Mundelein (20-3) also got 2 hits apiece from Chris Maranto and Zach Osisek. Maranto and Mitchell Schulewicz also had doubles for the Mustangs.

Wauconda 16, Zion-Benton 10: Kyle Bock was 3-for-5 in the North Suburban crossover, and the visiting Bulldogs got 2-for-3 efforts from Shawn Sundquist, Cody Rapier and David Diol, each of whom doubled. Sundquist tripled, as well.

John Kamakis had a 3-run double for Wauconda (14-7), and Ryan Gick also had a double. Austin Swenson earned the win in relief, as the Bulldogs overcame a 9-4 deficit by scoring 5 runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth.

Antioch 5, Grant 2: David Meade did not allow an earned run in his complete-game performance, while striking out five and surrendering 4 hits in improving to 4-2.

Antioch (10-7, 3-3 North Suburban Prairie) got 2 hits from Emery Paramski.

Grant fell to 13-6 and 4-2.

Grayslake North 8, Johnsburg 0: Kyle LaRocca fired a 3-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts for the Knights in the Fox Valley Fox Division game.

Grayslake North got 2-hit games from Carl Russell (double) and Kyle McBrien.

Grayslake Central 14, Woodstock 4: Kristian Meehan had 6 RBI, giving him 30 for the season, and Nick Hosford and Ryan Hamrick each scored 4 runs, as the Rams won their ninth straight.

Hamrick had 3 hits, including a double, while Hosford singled twice, helping Grayslake Central improve to 16-5 and 9-1 in the Fox Valley Conference.

Brian Karol tossed the first 4 innings, striking out six, in picking up the win. The senior along with Mike Wiggins and Christian Frusolone combined on a 4-hitter.

Marian Central 7, Round Lake 2: Ryan Newman and Anthony Gutierrez (double) each had 2 hits for the Panthers. Pedro Jaimes had a single and an RBI.
