Comcast Cares Day Comes to Little Angels
Any non-profit will tell you volunteers make it possible for them to achieve results they never thought possible. On Saturday, April 21st, over 125 volunteers from Comcast, along with Little Angels families and friends joined together for the 11th Annual Comcast Cares Day at the Little Angels Center for Exceptional Care.
Allen Roscoe, Comcast Leadership Development and Comcast Cares Day Project Lead, steered volunteers through projects including spring cleaning, removing wallpaper in resident bedrooms, and sprucing up the courtyards. Other volunteers created a spa day for Little Angels residents, built birdhouses and feeders for the courtyards, and even built a wheelchair accessible booth for resident Vocational Activities.
Little Angels is a loving home for children and young adults with severe disabilities and complex medical needs located in Elgin, IL. The facility offers very specialized care and is one of the only facilities of its kind in the Northern Illinois area. Comcast has partnered with Little Angels for the past 4 years with Comcast Cares Day. This event has helped build a strong relationship between the two. Comcast has been a major Corporate Sponsor for Angel Songs, the annual Little Angels Gala. And many Comcast employees donate their time, efforts and expertise to the organization. In fact, Linda Alperin, Comcast Vice President of Sales is a member of the Little Angels Center for Exceptional Care Board of Directors.
