Wheaton Warrenville’s Channon second in all-around

Wheaton Warrenville co-op’s Audrey Channon placed second in the all-around at the WW South regional Friday night.

Channon, a sophomore, scored a 36.2 to finish behind DeKalb senior Alyssa Lopez, who had a 38. The Tigers’ Emily Cook was fourth at 35.85. The top five individuals advance to Wednesday’s Glenbard North sectional.

Wheaton Warrenville placed second in the regional with 141.525 points. DeKalb won with 145.2. Addison Trail took fourth with 126.05 points, behind third-place Oak Park.

Channon took first place on beam with a 9.2, the only event Lopez did not win.

Wheaton Warrenville’s Sarah Deicke advanced on the parallel bars, beam and floor. Sophomore Sarah Bradley moved on in the vault with a 9.35.
