LA Theatre Works Presents 'The Rivalry' Feb. 25 at the MAC
Norman Corwin's riveting depiction of the famed Lincoln-Douglas debates comes to life during a performance by L.A. Theatre Works at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
L.A. Theatre Works production uses dialogue from the original debate transcripts, bringing life to this historically fierce battle of words between the future president and the incumbent senator.
Led by Producing Director Susan Albert Loewenberg, L.A. Theatre Works has brought works by numerous authors to radio audiences nationwide. In addition to its touring program, which has presented unique live radio theater in more than 100 towns and cities, L.A. Theatre Works' audio collection includes more than 400 titles, available in more than 7,000 libraries.
Additionally, L.A. Theatre Works produces “The Play's the Thing,” a live performance radio theater series, broadcast locally on WBEZ, National Public Radio.
Tickets to “The Rivalry” are $42 for adults, $40 for seniors and $32 for College of DuPage students and children 17 and younger.
The Feb. 25 performance also features a free pre-performance MAC Chat provided by Rod Davis, Knox College Professor Emeritus.
