COD, Roosevelt offer four new 3+1 programs
College of DuPage and Roosevelt University recently signed four new 3+1 agreements that enable students in COD's Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, and Meeting & Events Planning degree programs to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt. The students will earn their entire degree on the COD Glen Ellyn campus.
“We are extremely pleased to offer our students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt University, which boasts some of the most prominent programs in these fields in the Chicago area,” said College of DuPage President Robert L. Breuder. “Since last year, College of DuPage has forged ten new 3+1 agreements with area institutions. These partnerships provide distinct advantages for students, our institutions and area employers by encouraging the completion of advanced degrees and training before students enter the workforce for the first time.”
Roosevelt University President Chuck Middleton said, “This agreement formalizes a relationship that Roosevelt University's Steinfeld School of Hospitality and Tourism Management has had with the Hospitality and Culinary programs at the College of DuPage for many years. In fact, Roosevelt is proud that two COD professors earned degrees from our graduate program. There is real synergy in this wonderful partnership as it merges two of the state's outstanding programs in this field of study.”
Under this new agreement, Roosevelt University will accept students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from College of DuPage in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, or Meeting & Events Planning. Former COD graduates can also be considered for admission to this program pending completion of all prerequisites.
The 120 credit-hour Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management combines COD and Roosevelt University coursework taught at the College of DuPage campus.
“College of DuPage offers highly regarded associate's degree programs in the culinary and hospitality fields of study. This new agreement with Roosevelt keeps the momentum going for our students, encouraging them to continue their education to earn a highly sought-after and affordable bachelor's degree in these professions,” said Joseph Collins, COD Executive Vice President.
