Auditions for COD Spring College Theatre
General auditions for the College of DuPage College Theatre's fall productions of “Romeo and Juliet” and “Dog Sees God” will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and at noon Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Studio Theatre of the McAninch Arts Center at the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet” will be staged March 23 to April 1. Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers struggle in a world filled with hate, serving as a call for increased communication and understanding.
Bert V. Royal's “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” will be staged April 13 to 29. A portrayal of Charles Schultz's Peanuts gang as teens, “Dog Sees God” follows (Charlie Brown) in a stream of consciousness monologue, following the death of his beloved beagle, who was euthanized after being discovered in his kennel, cowering, covered in the blood of the yellow bird who had been his friend for many years.
College Theater is offered as a class and cast members for both productions must enroll in Theatre 1120.
Auditions for both productions include cold readings; no experience necessary. Copies of the “Dog Sees God” script are on reserve in the College Library. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held Sunday, Jan. 29. For more information, call (630) 942-4000.
