November 'Images' highlights dining on campus
“Images,” College of DuPage's monthly one-half hour television show, features in its November edition a look inside the College's new Culinary & Hospitality Center and the dining and lodging opportunities now available.
Each month, Images highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations.
The November Images highlights the College's new Culinary & Hospitality Center. Located on the northeastern edge of the College's Glen Ellyn campus near the McAninch Arts Center, the 60,000 square-foot CHC houses the Culinary and Hospitality Management program. The new center features “Waterleaf,” a fine dining professionally run restaurant; “Wheat,” a casual student-run dining room; a large meeting space for receptions and special events; and six professionally operated rooms in the facility's boutique hotel, “Inn at Water's Edge.”
Waterleaf offers seasonal lunch and dinner menus and a Sunday brunch. With its pristine attention to detail, comfortable yet classic setting and proximity to the College's McAninch Arts Center, the Waterleaf is poised to make its mark on the western suburbs. In addition, the restaurant is home to International and French Cuisine dinners prepared by COD students on select Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Students get additional hands-on experience operating Wheat Café, the CHC's 60-seat dining room. Specializing in regional American cuisine, Wheat Café provides students with back- and front-of-house experience and gives community members access to fine quality cuisine.
Located adjacent to Wheat Café, the College's Culinary Market offers a rotating menu of items created by students enrolled in the COD's Culinary and Hospitality Management program. The market is open Wednesdays to Fridays each semester and offerings are created by students in the CHC's kitchens.
This month's Images also highlights the Inn at Water's Edge, the College's six room boutique hotel located on the third floor of the CHC. This professionally-staffed hotel offers king and queen suites and a free continental breakfast. Additionally, the Inn at Water's Edge offers learning opportunities for COD's for Hospitality Management students..
The November edition of Images also features spotlights on Associate Culinary Professor David Kramer and student Charmaine Pace. Both discuss the value of the College's Culinary program and the exciting new resources available to students through the CHC.
Images airs at various times on cable television stations in Downers Grove, Wheaton, Addison, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Glendale Heights, Bartlett, Lemont, Elk Grove, Darien, Aurora and West Chicago. Check local cable listings for times and channels.
