Advocate Condell hosts free lecture, vein screening
The second installment in Advocate Condell Medical Center's “What Women Should Know …” health education series will include a free lecture and varicose vein screening.
Varicose veins don't discriminate: They can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, size, age or other variables. Painful and unsightly, varicose veins also can be an indicator of more serious health issues.
A lecture by Advocate Condell physician Shayle Patzik, MD, a board certified interventional radiologist, will focus on treatments – many of which are covered by insurance – offered at the Vascular Center at Advocate Condell, which has the latest laser technology. Following a question and answer session, complimentary non-diagnostic varicose vein screenings will be available to the first 24 registered attendees. Please wear a skirt or shorts.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in Advocate Condell's West Tower, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. The program is free, but registration is required by calling HealthAdvisor at (800) 323-8622. The registration code for this program is 5W25.
The “What Women Should Know … “ health education series covers a wide range of topics, including men's health, varicose veins, influenza, breast cancer, cardiac care, nutrition and emotional health.
