Wauconda’s Wagner fires no-hitter

Jeremy Wagner was on his game Friday.

The Wauconda senior fired a no-hitter, as the Bulldogs defeated visiting Grant 1-0 in North Suburban Prairie Division action.

Wagner struck out seven and walked one.

Jack Botheroyd doubled twice for Wauconda.

Stevenson 5, Vernon Hills 4: Brandon Waters was 3-for-3 with a double, and Adam Walton went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored for the Patriots.

Winning pitcher Jacob Sholl doubled for Stevenson (22-3).

Austin Hagen tripled for Vernon Hills.

Mundelein 6, Lakes 5: Austin Ozog had 2 doubles for the Mustangs. who also got doubles from Chris Maranto and Billy McMahon.

Jack Gavin was the winning pitcher for Mundelein (23-4).

Brandon Grant was 2-for-4 for Lakes (14-12).

Grayslake Central 11, Johnsburg 0: The Rams won their seventh in a row, as Mark Ash, Christian Edwards and Jake Oslovich combined on a 5-hitter.

Jon Gurchak had a 2-double game for Grayslake Central (18-8, 13-5) for the second day in a row. He also singled. Another junior, Ryan Hamrick, also had 3 hits, including a double.

Grayslake North 5, Woodstock North 1: Andy Tatera was 3-for-3 for the Knights (9-16, 8-11 FVC Fox).

Elk Grove 16, Wheeling 9: Blake Cavins went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and Jack Czeszewski hit a 2-run homer as Elk Grove (15-10, 8-5) stayed alive in the MSL East race behind Prospect (19-5, 10-2), which had its game with Buffalo Grove rained out. Mike Fox had 3 hits and 2 doubles and winning pitcher Luc Dimaso had 2 doubles.
