Softball / Lake County roundup

Olivia Duehr jacked a 3-run homer and Amber Mysliwiec knocked in 5 runs, as Antioch’s softball team closed in on the North Suburban Prairie Division championship with an 11-3 win over visiting Wauconda on Thursday.

Antioch improved to 9-1 in the division, with two games against North Chicago remaining.

Katie Keefe (2-for-3) and Katie Phillips also had doubles for Antioch, while Sage Keyes went 2-for-3 with a walk. Mysliwiec had 2 hits as well. Sam Kozenski pitched 5 innings for the win, allowing 3 runs (all earned), while striking out five and walking none.

Cara Nance had an RBI double for Wauconda and finished 2-for-4. Alex Kinnamon was 2-for-3.

Grant 2, Vernon Hills 1: Amber Smith’s single drove in her twin, Molly, in the top of the 15th inning, as the Bulldogs won a North Suburban Prairie game that was suspended due to darkness in the 13th inning Tuesday.

Amber Smith also had a triple.

Mundelein 3, Stevenson 1: Alex Hemmer hit a solo homer and singled, and Justina Doll was 2-for-3 with 2 stolen bases for the Mustangs in the North Suburban Lake game.

Hillary Bunnelle went the distance in the circle for Mundelein (12-12).

Stevenson fell to 14-8-1 and 5-4 in the division.

Zion-Benton 7, Libertyville 2: Toni Kintzel went 2-for-3 with a double for the Wildcats, while Andi Grant had a single and an RBI in the North Suburban Lake contest.

Maggie Meyer and Danielle Kaczmar also had hits for Libertyville.
