Schalk, Wheaton North roll in DVC

Wheaton North 12, Naperville North 3:Five runs in the second inning and five in the fourth powered the Falcons (18-7, 13-5) to the three-game sweep in the DuPage Valley Conference. Jeff Schalk tripled, homered and drove in 5 runs while Kevin Fahy blasted a solo homer. Ryan Jordan had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Nick Karl drove in 2 runs for Naperville North (9-16, 6-12). Naperville Central 10, West Chicago 0:Dan Ludwig (6-2) pitched a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts and a walk as the Redhawks (17-10, 12-5) won in the DuPage Valley Conference. Conor Philbin went 3-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBI. Ian Lewandowski and Mike Riordan had 2 hits apiece. WW South 2, Glenbard North 0:Jason Schuman blanked the Panthers (17-9, 11-6 DuPage Valley Conference) with a 3-hitter. Schuman struck out nine and walked none. Jeremy Rhoades went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for WW South (14-13, 10-8), which scored twice in the bottom of the third inning.Neuqua Valley 6, Bartlett 0:Jason Avallone scattered 6 hits, struck out nine and walked no one as the Wildcats (17-6, 9-6) won in the Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division. Ryan O#146;Keefe homered and drove in 3 runs while Tanner Giesel and Drew Bailey each had 2 hits. Glenbard South 10, Elmwood Park 6:The Raiders (15-9, 12-2) scored 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie in their Metro Suburban Conference victory. After Billy Strohl singled in a run to make it 7-6, Justin Joseph launched a 3-run homer to provide some insurance. Roger Dyrda was the winning pitcher in relief. Zach Bava and Doren Blake had 2 hits apiece. Downers South 6, Lyons Twp. 4: The Mustangs (17-10) scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally from a 4-1 deficit in their West Suburban Conference crossover win. Kevin Strelak and Nick Radenkovich had 2 hits apiece. Nick Rizner improved to 5-1 on the mound.
