Barg comes up large for Montini

Montini’s Emily Barg allowed just an unearned run in six innings of relief to get her first win, and went 3-for-4 with a double and run batted in as the Broncos beat Wheaton Academy 10-2.

Montini (4-8, 3-3 Suburban Christian Conference Blue) had gone 28 straight innings without scoring for Barg (1-5), but exploded for 12 hits Monday. Gabby Alanis went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and freshman Sara Ross hit a 2-run homer, her first of the year, for the Broncos.

Bekah Heubner’s RBI double in the first scored Marissa Gagliano to stake Wheaton Academy (5-8, 3-2) to a 1-0 lead.
