Nursing Transition Seminar Set for May 3

Nursing professionals who are interested in becoming nursing faculty members can attend “Making the Transition from Clinical Practice to Nursing Education,” a free seminar at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at College of DuPage.

Information to be covered includes teaching opportunities in COD's Nursing department, which includes the Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing and Certified Nursing Assistant programs. Faculty members in the ADN program must have a Master's of Science in Nursing, while Practical Nursing teachers are required to have a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.

“We are often approached by nurses who are interested in classroom, laboratory and clinical teaching,” said Maureen Waller, professor of Nursing. “This is a wonderful opportunity for them to meet us and learn what the qualifications are.”

The seminar will take place in the Health and Science Center, Room 2139. Registration is strongly encouraged. For more information, e-mail Maureen Waller at waller@cod.edu.
