Overshadowed presents "Miss Nelson is Missing" April 1-9

Overshadowed Theatrical Productions in Itasca will present a musical version of the delightful children's book, “Miss Nelson is Missing!” Performances begin Friday, April 1.

The story follows the kids of room 207 at the Horace B. Smedley Elementary School. These students have a reputation for being the worst kids of all. Their sweet, patient teacher, Miss Nelson, has reached the end of her rope and decides to take some time off. In her place, she sends in the ultimate substitute teacher, Miss Viola Swamp, who yields her ruler like a sword and uses unique teaching methods to rehabilitate the class of 207.

“Miss Nelson is Missing!” features Geoff Bedford and Amy Keller of Hoffman Estates, Kari Jones of South Elgin, Joe Rahe of Itasca, Megan Schier of East Dundee, and Brian Warren of Glendale Heights.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, April 1 and 8, and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays, April 2 and 9.

Tickets for the show are $7 each and on sale now by visiting www.OvershadowedProductions.com, or by calling (630) 250-7518.

Tickets are also available for a special character lunch following the Saturday 10 a.m. performances. Children will have the opportunity to eat lunch with the cast, learn one of the songs from the show, participate in a paper airplane flying contest, and more.

Overshadowed Theatrical Productions performs in historic, downtown Itasca at 210 S. Walnut St., just two blocks south of the Metra station.
