Warren handles Mundelein
On a day in which girls basketball assistant coach Demetri Georgatsos became a father to twin girls, Warren had Mundelein seeing double.
The Double A-Team of Alexis Leneau and Amanda Barger had big stat lines for Warren, which was up by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter on Wednesday in a 46-35 victory. Both scored 13 points.
Leneau also grabbed 8 rebounds and collected 6 steals and 3 assists while Barger finished with 4 assists and 6 steals.
Also coming up big for the Blue Devils was Jessica Prince. She was a big reason Warren rolled up 9 blocks on the night. She had 5 blocks herself, to go along with 9 points and 7 rebounds.
For Mundelein, Amanda Davis scored 13 points while Olivia Dunigan came up with a double-double. She finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Stevenson 60, Lake Forest 29: Stevenson rushed out to a 22-7 first-quarter lead and kept the pedal to the metal. The Patriots, who move to 6-2 on the season, got double-figures out of three players. Michelle O'Brien led the way with 16 points while Anna Morrissey and Katie Batman finished with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Grant 40, Vernon Hills 38: Senior forward Donnie Taggart pumped in a game-high 17 points to lead visiting Grant to a victory. Junior guard Morgan Jahnke added 14 points for the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, Meri Bennett-Swanson and Lauren Webb scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Vernon Hills.
Wauconda 55, Lakes 40: Wauconda outscored Lakes 20-7 in the fourth quarter to turn what had been a close game into a lopsided victory. Tammy Ellis led the Bulldogs with 15 points. She also pulled down 6 rebounds. Melanie Prudhomme and Diana Enriquez added 11 points apiece for Wauconda.
Ashley Parmly paced Lakes with 14 points while teammate Terese McMahon finished with 12 points.
North Chicago 55, Round Lake 41: Chanae Brown scored a game-high 19 points for Round Lake, which drops to 4-5 on the season.
Grayslake Central 60, Prairie Ridge 35: Grayslake Central hit 50 percent of its field goals and forced Prairie Ridge into 21 turnovers in cruising to victory. Senior guard Maddy Miller led the Rams with 16 points while senior center Rebekah Llorens added 10 points.
Fenwick 51, Carmel 36: Junior guard Jackie Meier drained 3 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, but it wasn't enough to push Carmel to victory. The Corsairs also got 9 points from Erin Quinn.
