Grayslake Central powers past Woodstock
Grayslake Central d. Woodstock: Klaudia Basierak drilled 11 kills, as the Rams stayed hot by winning the Fox Valley Fox Division match 25-17, 25-19.
Grayslake Central (12-4, 2-1), which won the Lakes Invitational on Saturday, also received 4 kills from freshman Gabi Casper, 12 digs from Stephanie Pimpo and 20 setting assists from Emily Anderson.
"We played well enough to win, but we will need to work hard and play better if we want to keep on winning in our division," Rams coach Jason Janczak said. "Woodstock did a great job on defense and offense, and opened our eyes to what we need to work on moving forward."
CL Central d. Grayslake North: The Tigers won the Fox Valley Fox match 25-16, 25-12.
"Although we lost, we played some great volleyball against a powerhouse team," Knights coach Nikki Kirchway said. "Our defense was awesome and caused Crystal Lake Central to get frustrated at times and break down."
Felicia Stancil and Jenni Babula each had 3 kills for Grayslake North. Kelsey Klausner had 2 blocks, and Katie McGrath contributed 8 digs.
Marengo d. Grant: Becca McMullin slammed 17 kills and posted 4 blocks for the Bulldogs in their 25-13, 19-25, 25-23 nonconference win.
Grant setter Sophia Trbojevich dished 18 assists on 56 of 58, while also notching 6 digs. Madison DePersio served 16 of 18 with 4 aces, and Stefanie Cahill added 3 blocks.
Mundelein d. Warren: Brittany Busscher and Christine Scott had 5 and 4 kills, respectively, as the Mustangs won 25-11, 25-22 in North Suburban Lake action.
Ashley Dolin added 4 blocks and Karen Chin collected three for Mundelein (5-6, 1-2). Chin also lofted 14 assists on 39-of-39 setting. Madi Wilcox and Mackenzie Boich each served 2 aces.
