Hot-shooting Grayslake Central tops Grayslake North at Renwood
Grayslake Central's boys golf team earned some bragging rights Tuesday.
Cody Stover shot an even-par 35 to lead the Rams to a team score of 147 and a 15-stroke win over Grayslake North at Renwood Golf Course in Round Lake Beach.
Grayslake Central also received 37s from Eric Hogenkamp and Nick Wysocki, while Kyle Balling added a 38.
Grayslake North (162) got 40s from Matt Bergstrom, Zach Boyce and Danny Santelle.
Lakes d. Wauconda: At Antioch, Cody Franke and Johnny O'Connor each fired a 2-over 37, as the Eagles (152) won the North Suburban Prairie match.
Matt Hirsch and Logan Edwards carded a 38 and 40, respectively, for Lakes (4-2, 3-0).
Wauconda (179) got a 42 from Matt Liddell.
Mundelein d. Lake Zurich: At Steeple Chase, the Mustangs improved to 6-0 overall, shooting a 148, as Sean Forsythe (35) and Eric Steagall (36) led the way.
Colin McCarthy (38), Dave Krueger (39) and Bryan Wiener (39) also broke 40 for Mundelein.
Lake Zurich (155) was led by medalist Mike Nutter with a 34. Blake Stezskal and Austin Reitsch each had a 39 for the Bears.
Lake Forest d. Libertyville: At Lake Bluff, the host Wildcats shot a 143 to beat the Wildcats by 12 strokes.
Lake Forest's Charlie Marshall was medalist with a 2-under 34. Joe Willis added a 35 and Ian Mankoff carded a 36. Five Scouts shot a 38.
Libertyville's Alex Quenan fired a 35, while John Cordon had a 38.
Vernon Hills d. Grant: At White Deer Run, the Cougars (163) were led by Kris McGovern and Chris Edwards, both of whom shot a 40.
Eric Swanson added a 41 and Brendon Heneks had a 42 for Vernon Hills (3-1, 2-0) in the North Suburban Prairie match.
Grant (183) was paced by Mike Carrier's 43.
