Rebecca Lincoln's flyball with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning was dropped, scoring Leigh Nebendahl with the winning run as Neuqua Valley edged Waubonsie Valley 2-1 in Naperville.
Lincoln had singled across Corinne Sheley with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the game 1-1.
Colleen Hohman (6-4) struck out 11 for Neuqua Valley (20-8, 11-4 Upstate Eight Conference). Lauren Thresh recorded 8 strikeouts for Waubonsie.
Downers Grove North 4, Glenbard West 2: Elaine Heflin (8-2) struck out four in 32/3 innings of scoreless relief for the visiting Trojans in a matchup of West Suburban Conference Silver leaders.
