Baum, Eanos pitch Round Lake to victory

Round Lake's baseball team picked up its elusive first win of the season Tuesday, blanking visiting North Chicago 5-0 in North Suburban Prairie Division action behind a combined 2-hitter by Matt Baum and Randy Eanos.
The Panthers (1-10, 1-2) scored a run in the first, three in the third, including two on a single by Gerald Williams, and one in the fifth.
Baum (RBI) and Anthony Gutierrez each had doubles.
On the mound, Baum pitched 4 innings of 1-hit ball, striking out five. Eanos tossed the final three frames.
Warren 2, Mundelein 1: Mike Herrmann (1-for-3) drove in both runs for the host Blue Devils in the third inning of the North Suburban Lake Division battle.
Zach Schneider allowed an unearned run in the seventh, but earned the complete-game win, allowing 6 hits, walking one and striking out six to improve to 5-0.
Tim Bodine went 2-for-3 for Warren (15-2, 3-0).
Mundelein starting pitcher Ben Mahar allowed 7 hits in a complete-game effort, striking out six and walking two. Matt Risdon was 3-for-3 for the Mustangs (13-3, 2-2), while Charlie Gandolfi went 2-for-2.
Stevenson 19, Lake Forest 5: Corey Lasky went 4-for-6 with 6 RBI, and the visiting Patriots scored nine times in the seventh inning of the North Suburban Lake Division game.
Stevenson (13-1, 4-1) received 2 hits apiece from Kyle Ruchim (double), Erick King (2 runs) and Mike Martin (2 runs). Greg Kingery (2-0) pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) and striking out six.
Cary-Grove 6, Grayslake Central 4: The host Rams blew a 4-run lead, as the Trojans scored 6 runs in the third inning of the Fox Valley Conference game.
Mike Gentile and Austin Miller doubled and singled for Grayslake Central (11-4, 5-2), and Joe Schaiper had a double as well.
Grant 11, Vernon Hills 1: Dylan Strazzanti was 4-for-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI for the Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.
Grant also received good production from Thomas Gier (2-for-3, double, 2 RBI), Lucas Moss (3-for-5, double, 2 RBI) and Jeremy Wiker (1-for-3, double, 2 RBI, 2 HBP).
Justin Cokefair earned the win on the mound, striking out nine, walking one and allowing 4 hits over 6 innings.
Libertyville 9, Zion-Benton 5: Brad Martin belted a grand slam and doubled and singled, as well, to lead the host Wildcats in the North Suburban Lake Division game.
Nathan Clark had 2 doubles for Libertyville (11-5, 4-1). Tyler Schweigert picked up the win.
Lakes 13, Wauconda 3: Paul Kukulka drove in 5 runs, going 3-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored, as the host Eagles won the North Suburban Prairie Division game in five innings.
D.J. Snelten (3-0) was the winner, allowing 1 earned run over 5 innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Lakes (10-7, 2-1) also got a double from Nick Traska. Wills Massie went 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored, while Traska finished 2-for-2 with 2 RBI. The Eagles scored 4 runs on 5 hits in the first inning and added 4 more runs in the second.
